Jami Ortung - Abstract Artist
My inspiration often resides in nature, and if you look closely, you just might see glimpses of the natural world embedded within my art.
My Story
As a young child, I learned the crafts of knitting, crocheting, embroidering, and sewing from my Grandmother and Aunt. In my 40s, I ventured into weaving, teaching myself the intricacies of a multi-shaft loom. By my 50s, I embarked on a painting journey—a largely self-taught exploration that beckons viewers to “delve into my work, pausing to reorient and discover fresh perspectives.”

My work is in private collections in Seattle, San Francisco, Boston, New York, Chapel Hill (NC) and Calgary, Alberta (Canada)
